The last time I did a STATUS post I said it rained out here in Phoenix.
Guess what it did again today?
Back in full-on #AmQuerying mode, and part of pitching is sometimes the agent wants to know if you have a website or not. This isn’t something I can do full-time, or every day, even though I’d like to because *motions to all of social media on fire and screaming* but I’d like to. I always imagined the pinnacle of blogging returning, where we all sort of check in on each other’s sites, see what we’re reading or watching or doing for the day, before logging out.
Self-owned, non-algorithmic, internet bliss.
I feel like I just missed that time in the late 90s/early 2000s. Sounds wonderful
PROJECT UPDATE:
BIANCA – 3rd Draft is nearing its conclusion, with one slight hiccup in the way.
The entire Climax needs to be rewritten. It’s somewhere in the ballpark of 3k-4.5k words, but for the final sequence of the book that’s supposed to land everything I’ve been building towards, that might take awhile.
#AMQUERYING – Pitched NESS twice in the last two weeks and pitched GREY once. Hoping for good things, but already heard back from the agent I pitched in the very beginning of the year. They said it needed work, but liked it, and gave me a six month grace period to fix it up. So, there’s that.
CLOUD – This one is really taking shape in my head. I just need to put pen to paper to see if the shape in my head is anywhere close to the shape it would be if I put it into words. Not sure if this one is going to be the one I challenge myself with this coming February or if its…
MATH – I can’t let go of this one. They always say (pro authors) that its the story ideas/characters that won’t let go that you should follow up on. I had about three or four different novel ideas last year. Without looking at a notebook I couldn’t tell you a single one of them…
…except this one. I think that means something.
CURRENTLY LISTENING: Sometimes, you just need to go back to when it all made sense.
CURRENTLY READING:
Marvel Comics: The Untold Story by Sean Howe
Picking my way through this slowly and trying to tell myself that reading comes in lots of different forms and me skipping around this one, to compare stories in the beginning versus the end, is also a viable reading option.
Thanks for reading,
