It’s Saturday. April. And I’ve already been interrupted twice while trying to do this thing.

Just going to move into the basics.

PROJECT UPDATE:

#AMQUERYING – Still nothing back from the agents who have full requested Project NESS, not even the one I followed up with. This is the weird line querying authors face, between being respectful and being annoying. You don’t want to pester them too much, but if they have your work and have it stated they DO in fact respond to all queries (especially full manuscript requests), then you have to get your answer. This particular agent I followed up with I know is in demand, so I’m okay waiting a little longer.

BIANCA – Finally finished the climactic final chapter. Now, I’ve circled back to the beginning to begin my read-through to see if all the threads and story bits line up. After this, it moves into the beta reader stage where I wonder if I’ve wasted my entire life since having only four people read my work gives me anxious chills and I want to sell books to hundreds, if not thousands, which would assuredly give me complete synaptic failure.

CLOUD – This is an interesting project. I’m imagining it as a duology, something totally planned as two books but will work just fine as one. I’m an unpublished author. You have to be ready to only get one. But I’m handwriting it in a Field Notes Pitch Black, a la Neil Gaiman, just to mix things up. Planning on following a daily progress chart like in the Feature Image above to help me hit my goals. I’ve almost finished the first chapter, just to see how it feels.

CURRENTLY LISTENING: Every time I feel like I’m getting lost or I don’t know who/what I’m about, I hear this, and I remember.

CURRENTLY READING: Old Man’s War by John Scalzi

I picked up this pocket-sized hardcover from a used bookstore in Phoenix and love it’s size, shape, and weight.

Also, the book is fun. I know this is one of the Scalzi classics and I’m loving every page. Witty, fast, and easy to get into. Not sure if I want to immediately follow-up in the series, as I have about a dozen other books I’m anxious to dig into after this, but there’s never a problem when you know there’s always more books for you to enjoy on the horizon.

Thanks for reading,
