Changing up the notebook system again.
I know. Again?
The point of a system is to get it to work for you. If the system isn’t working, then analyze, rework, and redeploy. At the start of the year I had the big Bullet Journal and decided to revert back to the one big BuJo only.
And that seemed fine.
For a bit.
Turns out babies get mobile and working part-time at a preschool doesn’t allow for a lot of sitting at a desk. Most of my writing is on the go, and I had the Lochby Pocket but sadly we don’t live on the Irish coast so big coats are few and far between. Can’t always carry it with me.
What to do?
Go through old tools.
I picked up the Robrasim Field Notes leather notebook cover years ago. When COVID hit and my life became mostly stay-at-home dad, I wasn’t going out as much. It didn’t seem needed.
Guess not.
Put a Field Notes Fifty Edition in there to use as the day-to-day Bullet Journal for every month. Still using it to log the daily stuff, and each one will have a calendar and index at the front. The hard part is syncing it up with the main Bullet Journal, which has all the project planning and books and movie lists. My plan is to do it every morning before the kids get up, but so far that’s been easier said than done.

But now that I’m talking about it, I guess I have no choice. I have to have the dedication to start the day and end the day with these notebooks.
And what’s up with that multi-colored card on the inside pocket? Disneyland Hotel room key. Years ago, after much planning, we took a massive family vacation to the parks and stayed onsite at the main Disneyland hotel. I want to bring that magic back to my boys and if the only way I can do that is through my writing, then, I need to show myself that again and again and again.
PROJECT UPDATE:
NESS – I have been scared of my own writing. That’s honestly the only way I can state it. I thought I needed time, space, a warm-up, and to be in the right mental state to work on the new chapters for NESS, a book that has been completed to a certain extent, received excellent praise from agents already, and is waiting on a REVISE & RESUBMIT.
But, I’m a coward. If I try to finish this R&R and fail, then what next?
I guess I won’t know until I get it done.
New Chapter 11 gets done today.
CITY – This is on pause until I finish the R&R Chapter 11, but I promise, it’s beginning this month.
CURRENTLY LISTENING: Finally deep into Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Switch 2 and I can hear Masashi Hamauzu’s Final Fantasy XIII laced throughout.
CURRENTLY READING: DanDaDan Volume 16 by Yukinobu Tatsu (B&N)
I’ve started and stopped at least three prose books in the last month and the only thing keeping my attention right now is comics and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a great thing.

Thanks for reading,
