Hey!
You know what’s a thing you need to do when you want to be a published author?
You need a bio. And guess who gets to write it?
You.
What I’ve done is I’ve opened a Notepad Doc and keep editing versions of my author bio as I progress in my writing career.
If you ever wanted to see the madness that goes into figuring out how to succinctly characterize and summarize yourself, here you go! Everything that follows is lifted right from that document.
FROM THE PUBLISHING CONFERENCE
-A short paragraph describing who you are
-Tough when you’re an unknown, so put things from your life in to let people know you can publish
-Teacher! Lesson plans! Deadlines! Contributor!
-SHOULD BE DONE IN THE STYLE OF YOUR BOOK; THAT’S YOUR BRAND, YOUR PROMISE (FOR EVERYTHING, NOT JUST THE BIO)
-Your bio should be abour 2-3 sentences
-Unless your credentials set you apart and are special, MAKE IT SPECIAL
-Inform the Agent/Publisher of what you are willing to do and be open to?
