This isn’t even as hot as it’s going to get, Patsy.

It’s that wonderful time of year down in the old west, when the temperature creeps past the triple digit mark then, suddenly, shoots up another ten degrees. You’re either forced to ease up on your A/C for fear of running the poor machine ragged or face an electric bill twice as high as the temperature.

If you’re lucky.

It’s those summer days when you lay around, trying not to exert as much effort as you can, so your body remains cool. Unfortunately, running a house with twins who don’t understand the concept of, “Sit still please,” means I’m up and moving a lot.

And tired and grumpy at the end of the day.

I need to work on that.

Getting back to Project: DEED right now. I’m in the midst of a tough chapter, a lot of character being revealed through action in quiet moments, which I both love and fear writing. Still, it’s a first draft. No one’s going to read it.

Just get it done.
