STATUS – 3.18.2024 –

No. Not dead yet. Despite COVID’s best efforts, I’m still here.

Still not in possession of the energy I’d like. After every major outing we’ve done for the month of March (the busy season for the Acosta household), including trips to the Rennaissance Festival and a St. Patrick’s Day music bonanza, I returned home and collapsed into an exhausted heap.

Not just “Dad Tired.” But like, “Wow, Death Doesn’t Seem So Bad Tired.”

Akira Toriyama passed away. Still processing that.

But I’m alive. Alive to work. Alive to write. And I’ve been gifted an afternoon to try and jumpstart something so let’s see if I can.

PROJECT UPDATE:

MORNING PAGES – I have about 6 pages left in this Pokemon journal I got in Japan so I think I’ll finish it up today.

BIANCA – There’s a chapter I’ve been afraid to rewrite. But I can’t make it better if I don’t first make it.

CLOUD – This one is locked, loaded, and ready to start a first draft. I just need to pick a notebook. And you would laugh at how long it took me to finally work up the nerve to tell myself, “It doesn’t matter what notebook you write this out in. Just do it.” With Toriyama’s passing, this one needs to get going.

#AMQUERYING – Nothing at the moment, though I am approaching the 6 month check-in for a Project NESS full-manuscript request. You want to respect the agent’s time, but it’s allowed to follow-up if it’s been anywhere between 6-8 months. So gotta work up the nerve to do that later this week. There’s another agent who also requested a full-manuscript for NESS, but that was about a month ago. That’s got time to simmer. Going to begin researching agents again today.
