Hello and good morning.
I’m wearing a heart monitor for the next four weeks. Don’t worry, nothing serious (I hope) but this is continuing the care I’ve been receiving in regards to my long COVID. In the following weeks after my initial diagnosis, back in February, I’d regularly get weird heart palpitations and shortness of breath. Even doing something as simple as unloading the dishwasher caused me to need to sit down.
Thankfully, it’s been lessening as time goes on, and even getting a series of B12 shots (for my HILARIOUSLY low B12 levels [seriously, the NP laughed a little]), these days are now spaced so far apart I can barely recognized when they happen anymore. Still, my doc wants to put me totally in the clear, I got referred to a cardiologist, who also wants to make sure I’m in the clear, bingo bango, heart monitor for a month.
It’s the closest I will ever feel to being Iron Man.
PROJECT UPDATE:
Things are totally sane so I thought, “Why not?” and developed a writing schedule (The Featured Image). Each writing project or writing outlet (SPOILERS: Writing on this website is the letter ‘B’) is given a letter. I write out days of the week at the top of the page, then below write out the letters of what I think I can do with the hour and a half I am given every day I’m able to wake up.
#AMQUERYING – Projects NESS and GREY are up to bat and I’m aiming to pitch both of them this week. Spend a day researching an agent I think might be a fit for the project, then prep and sending the pitch the next. Easy.
CLOUD – Finished up chapter 2 of Project CLOUD, my middle grade contemporary fantasy I’m handwriting in a Field Notes Pitch Black edition. Spacing it out, I think I’m going to need 5 of these to write the whole thing. Probably should have planned out the budget I’m going to need for it, first. Oy. Doing another chapter today.
CURRENTLY LISTENING: Every artist goes through changes. It’s the nature of what they are. Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of bringing in so many vocalists on her newer tracks, as we all just want to hear Lindsey play, so I decided to go back to the beginning.
CURRENTLY READING: ECHOLANDS by JH Williams III and W Haden Blackman

I could spend the rest of my life talking about the art in this book alone. You remember that first scene in the WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT film when Bob Hoskin’s Eddie Valiant walks out onto the studio lot and sees dozens of different cartoons animated in their unique styles? Williams does that but on every page. It’s a masterwork on art alone, incorporating mazes into comic panels and painted characters alongside classic comic pencil and inks.
They story, while simple, isn’t too much a distraction. I always get intimidated when I see Williams is drawing something because I think it’s going to be too prestige or above what I’m looking to read, but I always find myself engrossed in the pages. It happened with his BATWOMAN run a while back with Greg Rucka. I was worried the art was going to be too much, but then I opened the book and found out yes, it is in fact, a comic book.
Thanks for reading,
