Tomorrow is the first day of kindergarten for my twins.

I’ll have a lot more to say on that. Instead, I’m going to talk about something else today.

PROJECT UPDATE:

NESS – On July 7, I received the notes from the literary agent for the Revise & Resubmit. I spent the next week dissecting the notes and breaking down what the agent was asking of me.

The following week, I broke apart those notes into doable actions, and then began outlining the whole novel onto note cards to look at the pacing from afar. Oh, to look at it from afar, I taped them all to the wall in a reflection of my slow descent into madness as my fourth child’s birth inches ever closer…

The week after that I identified the slow sections, wrote in ideas for new parts, referred back to old notebooks for the missing pieces, and figured out what can be inserted to speed things up.

This week, the new writing begins. And, of course, I’m afraid.

Also, looking back at all the time I had to work on this, I think it totaled something like 12? 14? 16? hours of work. Meaning if I was a full-time writer, I could have gone through all these notes in about two days. That’s not something I want to dwell on too much, but, it’s kind of crazy to consider as I inch closer and closer to my goal of what I can get done when I have a reason to.

#AMQUERYING – BIANCA is still set to go out. But, I don’t know…

CITY – At least once a day, I get the push, the drive, the inspiration, to get back to this story…and then one of my boys’ noses starts bleeding.

CURRENTLY LISTENING: Like I said.

Kindergarten starts tomorrow and I have a lot of feelings.

CURRENTLY READING: Kiki Kallira Breaks a Kingdom by Sangu Mandanna (B&N)

Still working through this. Slowly. I keep getting drawn back into Grant Morrison’s Batman epic, but I do love the stakes of this. Mandanna has reached into something deep within my soul.
