Hello and good afternoon.

I’ll have more to say about the Featured Image next week. I’m very excited for it.

Today is Sunday, the expected normal day I’d like these STATUS posts to go live. In my mind they function as the mandatory post on the website, a Proof of Life more than anything else. A way to quickly update where I’m at in my writing journey, what I was listening at the time, or what I was reading. Breadcrumbs on a pathway, you know?

There’s a version of the internet I long for, that I feel I just missed, that I’m not even sure how real it was, where this was the norm among a certain subset of people. You posted what you were doing, shared a quick photo to prove you were living, then moved on. There wasn’t an eternal state of Being on. You had a break.

And more and more, every day, I’m finding it harder and harder to commit to being on Meta. If I didn’t use it to communicate with so many different groups of friends and family, then I’d be off, but maybe that’s what Zuck and crew want?

A lot on my mind, it seems…

Time to move on.

PROJECT UPDATE:

#AMQUERYING – NESS has reached the end of its fairy tale run. I wrote about how there was an agent who requested a partial of the book, then got back to me and requested a full manuscript. They reached a decision. And that decision was a Pass. Which hurts, and I can write about it more in a more detailed post later, but the agent was kind enough to provide extensive details of their reasoning for why they liked it, but just not enough to take me on as an agent. And while that hurts, we move on (as I already said) with the information they gave us, stronger. More knowledgeable about how I need to sell myself and the story

BIANCA – The Pitch and Synopsis are coming along nicely, but still not complete. I want them done by the end of the week so I can start pitching BIANCA to agents in February.

CITY – This is the new middle grade contemporary fantasy/horror(?) I’m working on. I have the massive beats and strides of the story in my head, but before I can do that, I need to, you know, write them down to see if they work. That’s also on the docket for this week so I can start writing this Februrary.

I just looked at a calendar. Oh no.

CURRENTLY READING: Macho Man: The Untamed, Unbelievable Life of Randy Savage

Jon Finkel is breaking my brain with how much life the Macho Man lived. This book also goes to show the line between human and character in professional wrestling is more like piece of thread with a lot of rips in it. What a guy.

The cover of the biography, "Macho Man: The Untamed, Unbelievable Life of Randy Savage
