Bit of a short one today, but I wanted to check in and show I’m still alive and still writing.
I’m on the first draft of Project: NESS. My current word count just passed 2,000, which feels pretty good. Just don’t look at the calendar telling you you should be at roughly 10,000 words. Don’t look at it. You’re a busy dad, you got a lot going on at home taking care of your boys and your work-from-home wife. Don’t look at it.
…
YOU LOOKED AT IT.
I know I can’t always be where I want to be with my writing, but I have to keep trying. I’ve said this before, but even getting a sentence down in a notebook counts as advancing the story because, odds are, you’ve spent hours and hours in your head thinking of that single sentence and to finally get it down is the culmination of all that mental work.
